It is a catalan-galician company that, with the help of the Limited Cooperative Society SOCOMGAL, manages the total production of 172 floating trays of mussels at Ria de Vigo (Galicia, NW Spain) and a Shellfish Depuration Centre at the beautiful city of Roses (Catalonia, NE Spain). The company's main activity is the export of galician mussel to the most important markets of France and Italy, what means an 80 percent of the total exported products. It was incorporated in January of 1993. The company has a registered office located in Roses, Spain. The galician mussel (Mytilus galloprovincials) is extracted from its harvesting areas at the Atlantic Sea and transported at controlled temperature to Roses where is submerged inside the Mediterranean sea waters. Its Quality Department performs a continuos microbiologic control of the sea water, all the products, as well as the molluscs' depuration process. All this tasks, according with European and Spanish legislation, is daily supervised by the inspectors of the Official Veterinary Services of the Departament de Sanitat i Seguretat Social de la Generalitat de Catalunya (Sanity Department of Catalonia, Spain). Its products include mussel, rock mussel, carpet shell, striped venus, pacific oyster, smooth callista, wedge shell, warty venus shell, razor shell, spinous murex, sea snail, and sea urchin. All products, after their accurate depuration, and wilth total security for the consumer, are packaged in boxes or nets depending on the client needs and wishes. All shellfish depurated and sold by the company carries attached documents with data about harvesting area, extraction date, depuration hours and everything according to the requirements of the standards of the European Union.
